Double Six Set Prayer (2020)  

"Double Six Set Prayer (2020) is a playable, hand-sculpted version of the classic Double Six Set Domino game. The work takes inspiration from my childhood, growing up in the Bronx, and learning how highly regarded this game was amongst my older relatives and community. Each domino piece is a material signifier for the more nuanced aspects of Puerto Rican tradition. Mimicking a prayer candle lit in tribute, the dominos are sculpted out of votive prayer wax and set within a handmade acrylic domino box."
