"This is a drawing of the nervous system in the human hand superimposed over the underside of a Yagrumo leaf. Yagrumo is an endemic plant to Borinquen that is known to be an indicator of incoming rains; when a storm is approaching the tree will flip its leaves so the underside is showing. We are so connected to this earth that even our interior vessels look the same. It's important that in our discussions of our "rican-ness", we never lose sight of our connection to the land that birthed us."
